nice to meet you

17 Mar

My gentleman and I took a huge plunge last summer and bought a big, old house. It’s something we’ve always wanted, and now here it is. We’re still getting settled in and taking things one project at a time. It’s a great uphill battle, and we’re trying to revive this old lovely from the clutches of elderly sensibility that reigned over it for the past 50 years. I wanted to document the little changes here and there, and thought this the best way to do it.  Now that things have settled down a bit, I am making this blog thing happen (despite hating that word immensely).

I would like the ability to look back on the house’s humble beginnings to whatever she ends up being. So, if you’re interested, you can see our various hits and misses. You can peruse through the befores and afters. Perhaps you can offer some advice and pointers. There’s a lot of work to be done, inside and out, and I’ll be updating with whatever we may be doing at that time.

I’m going to jump right in and offer a tour of the hilariously neglected and old-fashioned yard tomorrow. See the dangerous slopes and mystical thorn bushes! Witness the abstract bulb planting! Observe the wobbly steps of death! Until then…
